Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer

As Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer, Larry Chapman is responsible for underwriting, portfolio strategy and research at Wrightwood Capital. 

Mr. Chapman has over twenty years of experience in commercial finance including a total of eight years as the Chief Credit Officer for both Transamerica Commercial Finance (TFC) and Heller Financial. While at TFC, Mr. Chapman was responsible for the $500 million commercial real estate financial business. As Chief Credit Officer, he was charged with overseeing TFC’s credit risk management function across its $8 billion portfolio which included floor planning, equipment finance, asset based and cash flow lending, commercial real estate and venture leasing. Prior to TFC, Mr. Chapman spent over fourteen years at Heller Financial, where he was Chief Credit Officer for two years with responsibility for the credit function across Heller’s $12 billion portfolio. 

Mr. Chapman’s professional experience also includes auditing for Grant Thornton and accounting for Boise Cascade’s Office Products Division. Mr. Chapman received a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Mr. Chapman also holds a CPA designation.
