As Managing Director, Operations and General Counsel, Sara Hays is responsible for Wrightwood Capital’s legal and enterprise risk management, corporate governance and non-financial operations, including marketing, investor relations, human resources, technology and office services. She is also a member of the Company’s Executive and Investment Committees. 

Prior to joining Wrightwood Capital, Ms. Hays served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Hyatt Hotels Corporation and was a member of Hyatt’s Managing Committee, responsible for providing counsel and minimizing legal risk in all aspects of Hyatt’s global hospitality business. Before joining Hyatt in 1994, Ms. Hays was an associate at the law firm of Coffield, Ungaretti & Harris, where she focused on commercial real estate transactions for developers, lenders, borrowers, landlords, and tenants. 

Ms. Hays currently serves as Director of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ:APOG), a holding company for a series of businesses involving the design and development of value-added glass products, services and systems for the architectural and large-scale optical industries. She is a member of the Executive Club of Chicago, Chicago Finance Exchange, Association of Corporate Counsel, American Bar Association, and CREW Chicago. 

Ms. Hays graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carleton College, where she serves as an Alumni Trustee, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, where she is a member of the Law Board, and has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
