Private Equity Advisor and Investor

Mitch Vernick was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of Transamerica Finance Corporation, the commercial finance arm of San Francisco-based Transamerica Corporation, where he was responsible for managing multiple Chief Operating Officers of several distinct arms of the company. Prior to his tenure at Transamerica, Mr. Vernick held a variety of management positions at Heller Financial, eventually becoming Vice Chairman. At Heller, he was responsible for developing its leveraged buyout business, as well as equity investing and project financing. He began his career at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago. 

Mr. Vernick currently serves as a general advisor for Wind Point Partners, Graue Mill Partners, and Bear Stearns Merchant Banking. In addition to being an equity advisor, Mr. Vernick is a member of the Finance Commission for the Village of Hinsdale, Illinois. He is an active participant of the Student Mentor Program at Luther High School in Chicago, a member of the Advisory Committee at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, and a co-founder of Charlie's Gift Foundation, an organization working towards publishing a children's book to raise autism awareness. 

Mr. Vernick received his BA in Political Science and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. He received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
