As Senior Director, General Counsel of Wrightwood Capital, Maria Scherer is responsible for the company’s legal risk management and corporate governance. She oversees the legal management of Wrightwood Capital’s corporate initiatives, as well as its finance, capital markets, fund formation and fund management activities, including securitized vehicles. In addition, Ms. Scherer is a member of the Company’s Executive Committee.
Prior to joining Wrightwood Capital in May of 2006, Ms. Scherer was an associate at the law firm of DLA Piper, where she focused on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development transactions, financings and leases.
Ms. Scherer attended The University of Notre Dame where she graduated Cum Laude with degrees in History and Economics. She received her Juris Doctor from The University of Virginia School of Law. She is admitted to the Illinois bar and is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and CREW Chicago.
